Chalked Up

Before I get into blogging for real right now, I had to tell you all...

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY!! WAHOOO!!! I love birthdays. I am that girl who will tell everyone, "Oh hey by the way, it's my birthday."  Or remind people that it's coming up. I'm not shy about it. I don't know how people can go an entire day and not say anything. Then it somehow comes out in conversation at the end of the day and you're like, "What?! Why didn't you say anything? We could have been celebrating your birth/worshiping you! Duh. So anyway I just had to let you know that I am 23 today. Booyah. Continuing on....

While Po rousing the internet today I came across the coolest post about turning things into chalkboards. I have done it before a few times and have really enjoyed it. IE.....

This one I made as a gift for my sister in-law (sigh- ps I miss my short blonde hair)

And this Chalkboard tray that doubles as a frame/menu board.

In the article I found, there were 33 different ways to transform anything into a chalk wonder. Here are some of my favorites from the list...

24. Headboard
Paint an accent wall and paint a headboard, landscape, etc. Although I do imagine chalk rubbing off onto the pillow cases and making a mess. But in theory, its pretty.

19. Coasters
Coasters. SO many possibilities.

10. Cards
This was a new one I hadn't seen before. Chalkboard cards. So adorable.

Chalk Board Ring - Clever!
I love the idea of chalkboard jewelry I think I'll definitely have to make some. At some point. If I can find the time... But I love it!

If you want to see the whole list follow THIS LINK. There were some Ideas I had seen before, as well as some new ones. I don't think all of them are very practical, but they are fun anyway. So go check it out and create away my friends.

Holiday Hair

It has finally happened to me. My hair. Is long enough. For a top knot. Yay!! Its a little pathetic, but still adorable I think? Don't mind my regrowth that looks, oh so grey next to my red...

In this outfit I'm wearing my new cardigan given to me by my bff. Gold+sparkley+cardigan= everything I love and the perfect xmas gift. I borrowed a vintage clutch from my mother because it matched perfectly and made the best accessory. That plus my top knot made for the perfect laid back, yet classy outfit. Don't you think?

And of course my new houndstooth scarf! I'm in Love with it:)

Isn't the clutch amazing? It's a velvet envelope style, stitched with gold threading.

Still need to learn to add a little color to my life. BUT! This just in, thanks to KalleeMae, Black and white is the Number one trend for 2013! I'm in luck. Thanks to being a hairdresser I am a pro at black and white. You can see the deets about this trend on the link above. What do you think will be trending this year?
