Its..... a Boy!

Yesterday was a very exciting day. It was Tyler's birthday and the day we found out the sex of our sweet baby Gardner. I had a few great presents for Tyler, but finding out we will be having a boy was the highlight of his day and what made it the best birthday ever.

Our Dr.'s appointment was at one o'clock where we promptly told the nurse and the ultrasound tech "we don't want to know! We want you to  know!" This was only our 2nd ultrasound, so we weren't exactly sure how it would go. And being first time parents we weren't sure what we would be able to see or not see as far as the gender goes. Thankfully our ultrasound tech Bobbi had done couples with gender reveals before and was a pro.

She showed us the baby and explained to us all the body parts and movements. But when the time came to find the gender she told us to close our eyes, and in a matter of moments she had our answer. She made us a disc of the whole thing so we could watch it later and see what we missed. She wrote down our results and put them in an envelope and we we were off. It was crazy to be holding the results of our baby and have them right there, but not know!

We went about our day anxiously awaiting photoshoot. I took a nap, Tyler went birthday shopping. It was a win win for both of us. I had been slaving away all week cutting out confetti for this gender reveal. Seriously, it took me FOREVER!

While I got ready, aka got a little too carried away with my hair, Tyler went to grocery store to get balloons. The lady behind the counter was thrilled to help us! Thank goodness because stuffing tiny confetti pieces into balloons is not exactly fun. He handed her the envelope and the confetti, and wandered the store until she was finished. Tyler told me later that he is going to print out some pictures to take to her so she could see how it went. He is so kind like that. All I can think about is decorating the nursery boy style, and buying clothes, and he is thinking about the old woman who helped us create the magic. He is why I am not afraid to have children. Cause If I screw it up, he will be there to instill goodness and kindness into our children.

Anyway onto the photos! Both of us totally thought it was going to be a girl. You see, all of the Gardner men have girls first. Its just the pattern clear back to the great grandpa Gardner. So even though we wanted a boy, we had basically decided that it was going to be a girl.

You can tell that we are genuinely shocked! Seriously? Blue hearts? WHAT! I was 100% sure it was going to be pink confetti that flew out of that balloon.
Even though that confetti was  a pain in the butt, it worked out beautifully!
This is possibly my favorite picture from the shoot. It's a moment between us and our baby boy. You can see the love and peace on our faces. Just pure happiness!
We are so happy to be parents. Nervous, excited, anxious, but blissful. We love our little baby already and cannot wait to meet him.
There will be more pictures to come, and even a video! But for now, I just wanted to share my joy with all of you.
xoxo
